Let's SupposeA+B=76 ---- (i)
A-B=38 ----(ii)
Now Add (i) + (ii)
2A=114
Then A=57
Now we'll put value of A in Eqaution (i) or (ii)
We'll get Answer for B! i.e
57+B=76
B=76-57
B= 19
Now We have value of Both Parameters A & B
A/B=?
57/19
So A/B = 3
that's why I hate math

ReplyDeleteA+B=76, so A=76-B
A-B=38, so A=38+B
Since A=A, set the two above equal to each other and work it through.
76-B=38+B
76=38 + 2B
38=2B
B=19
With B now known, A is solved using 76-19. A equals 57.
That is the correct procedure!

DeleteLOLZ! ok...u see from the working given above....(i) and (ii)....the reason that the person ADDED it is because it has (-b) and (+b).....when u added this two...u get zero (THEREFORE "b" is cancelled out....SO NOW U CAN WORK WITH "a" TO MAKE THINGS EASY)...therefore...u have (+a) AND (+A).....WHICH makes it 2a (tha is a+a= 2a)..and (THE RULE STATES....THAT WHATEVER U DO ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE EQUAL SIGN....U ALSO DO IT ON THE RIGHT..) THEREFORE....(U ADD 76 AND 38...TO GET 114)....now.....WHEN U LOOK AT IT....U GOT (2a) on the left hand side of the equal sign...and 114 on the right hand side of the equal sign)...(PICTURE THAT).....and now....to work out "a"....u divide by 2...to get 57....NOW....U GOT "a" as 57......NOW LOOK AT "A + B= 76.....(NOW...."a" is 57....AND U CAN WORK OUT "b" from that i.e... 76-57= 19...ur "b"...is 19)....NOW...A=57 AND B=19....WORK THE REST OUT!!
