The planet Mercury will be far enough away from the glare of the Sun to be visible in the Western sky after sunset. It will be at its brightest on the 16th and dim quickly afterwards. On the 8th it will skim by the much dimmer planet Mars by about 0.4 degrees.

Pontsticill or Taf Fechan Reservoir in South Wales was built in 1927. Pontsticill Reservoir or Taf Fechan Reservoir is a large reservoir on the Taf Fechan lying slightly in the county of Powys and slightly within the county borough of Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales.  The 110-foot high support has been holding back 3.4 billion gallons of water for supply to industry and population to the South.  It covers 253 acres (100+ hectares) and contains wild brown trout.
